This is a CT scan of a package of twinkies. The package is visualized in aqua, the sponge cake mostly in blue, and the creme in yellow. The interface between the creme and sponge cake occasionally saturates to red indicating a higher density. This is also noted along the interface between the sponge cake and the cardboard plate within the package. Here the condensed moisture fuses the sponge cake to the plate and creates a higher density. Note the pockets of condensed liquid adhering to the inside of the package seen here as small sperical aqua globules surrounding the sponge cake. The discrete pockets of creme are clearly visualized and note that they are not perfectly spaced. This lends an almost "hand made" aura to these famous mass-produced snack cakes.
