This is a CT scan of a squeaking rubber duck from the mid-twentieth century. With the exception of the saggital mold mark, this duck is perfectly smooth on the exterior, but the CT scan reveals a rather pock-marked interior. Most notable is the very simple squeak whistle imbedded near the ducks right lower extremety. It is made of metal. One of the most fascinating aspects of this image is the difficulty in determining the respective orientations of the face and tail. Of course, they are on opposite sides of the body, but the image does not make that so clear. This is especially true in the movie. |
